African geese are some of the largest domestic geese.  Despite the name, African Geese are believed to have originated in China.  Africans are very hardy and have been considered to be the most docile breed of geese.  African geese tend to grow and mature early in comparison to other breeds.  They have a large black knob on their head and a dark stripe down the back of the neck.  This nob is easily frostbitten so it is best to provide them with shelter during the cold winter months.
